St. Joseph’s

Completion of Faith Filled Journey

After nine months of prayer, reflection and discernment, St. Joseph’s published a three-year plan to move our parish forward with an Evangelizing Vision.  Five Priority Areas were established by the parish, teams were formed for each, and these teams worked diligently on completing the goals set by the parish.

The Priority Area Teams; Faith Formation, Outreach, Social Justice, Welcoming, and Youth, reported to the Parish Council twice a year on their progress.  In addition, three parish-wide “Gathering Days” were held as a way for the parish at large to hear from each of the teams.

At the three year mark all but two goals had been accomplished.  The ‘Re-Membering’ program will be researched after a Parish Wide In Reach project to assess the needs of providing a process of welcoming back inactive Catholics. The goal of ‘Expanded Fundraising’ to benefit those in need has been fulfilled by a new ‘Wood for Fuel’ program which allows individuals to earn money, to help defray fuel costs, by putting up and selling fire wood.

The ENVISION process has been a faith filled journey for St. Joseph’s and we highly recommend it for other parishes.  For information on our journey call our parish office 218-326-2843 or visit the web site of the Paulist National Evangelization Association www.pncea.org click on ‘ENVISION
